TAKHSUS IN FIQH
Understand Islam with Clarity in a Complex World
A two-year advanced specialization in Islamic jurisprudence and fatwa studies designed to prepare future Muftīs grounded in the Ḥanafī legal tradition. Students engage in advanced legal reasoning, uṣūl al-fiqh, applied fatwa methodology, and the study of classical legal texts within a structured scholarly framework.
The program explores the historical development of Ḥanafī legal thought across major centers such as Kufa, Bukhārā, Cairo, Isṭanbūl, and Delhi, while examining the role of fatwa within diverse social and political contexts. Graduates are prepared for iftāʾ, research, teaching, and religious leadership rooted in a centuries-old scholarly tradition.

Iftāʾ Specialization in Fiqh
Jurisconsult Training Program (Advanced Fatwa Methodology)
This specialization develops advanced competence in:
Islamic legal reasoning and fatwa issuance
Ḥanafī legal theory (uṣūl al-fiqh)
Judicial and ethical dimensions of Islamic law
Applied jurisprudence in contemporary contexts
Program Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the program, students must:
Submit approximately 200 structured fatwa responses (istiftāʾ)
Complete four research-based essay fatwas
Submit a final thesis under faculty supervision
Receive final approval from Darul Ifta faculty
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTs
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must complete:
Advanced Islamic Studies Program
OR
Equivalent ʿĀlimiyyah qualification
They must have:
Strong proficiency in classical Arabic
Urdu reading ability (strongly beneficial)
Successful placement assessment and interview
Familiarity with advanced Ḥanafī texts such as:
al-Hidāyah
Sharḥ al-ʿAqāʾid
Uṣūl al-fiqh literature
